General requirements of a sensory test
When carrying out a sensory test, a number of influencing parameters have to be heeded in advance. The aim is to obtain representative results from the test series which are not influenced in a negative way by an insufficient preparation or implementation.
The following basic conditions have to be considered when planning and implementing a series of sensory tests:
- careful planning and implementation of the test
- creation of the same test conditions (normal room temperature, uniform lighting conditions, sufficient sample material)
- examiners should not consume alcohol and/or coffee in advance, they should not smoke and should be rested
- the test should take place without disruptions
